Prime Minister's Scholarship group awardees for 2022 announced

New Zealand's connections with Asia and Latin America are set to receive a boost, with thirty groups comprising 387 New Zealanders awarded Prime Minister's Scholarships.
The awards were announced by Education Minister Chris Hipkins on 12 July 2022, and mark the first scholarship round since COVID-19.
Prime Minister's Scholarship for Latin America 2022 group awardees:
- AUT: 4-week programme to Chile visiting Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) in Valparaíso and Universidad de La Frontera in Temuco, aimed at final year Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments students
- Lincoln University: 4-week Agribusiness Summer School in Brazil, visiting ESALQ (Sao Paulo University), Federal University of Vicosa (Minas Gerais) and Federal University of Santa Catarina (Florianopolis)
- Lincoln University: 4-week Agribusiness Summer School in Colombia, visiting Bogotá and Manizales
- Massey University: 4-week Performance Arts Cultural and Language Exchange to Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia
- Massey University: 7-week Agriculture and Sustainability Internship Programme in Mexico City
- Te Piruru Marae: 4-week customised programme to Brazil to engage with indigenous people, specifically the Ashaninka Iwi, on indigenous identity, indigenous revitalisation and indigenous connection
- Te Pūkenga: 4-week Summer Programme at University of Santo Tomas, Chile, with a Spanish and Culture programme and the option to participate in two courses: macroeconomics in Latin America, or using design thinking and innovation in earth observation and data science to tackle climate change challenges in Chile's coastal wetlands
- University of Auckland: 5-week iWinter International Business Short Course at Tec de Monterrey, Mexico
- University of Auckland and University of Waikato: 4-week Indigenous Rights & Histories with Campus B, Brazil

- Culinary Collective: 6-week Study Tour in Culinary Arts and Food Innovations at Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya and Akademi SAGES - The SAGES Institute in Surabaya, Indonesia
- Lincoln University: 6-week Summer Agribusiness programme at Kasetsart University, Thailand
- Lincoln University: 6-week Agribusiness Summer School at Airlangga, Brawijaya and Bogor Agriculture Universities, Indonesia
- Massey University: 8-week Fashion Internship Programme in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
- Massey University: 8-week Digital Media Internship Programme in Seoul, Republic of Korea
- Massey University: 6-week Bridging NZ and China by language learning, culture and business experiences at Peking University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, China
- Te Piruru Marae: 6-week Customised internship programme to Japan with the Ainu people
- Te Pūkenga: 6-week internship programme in Tokyo, Japan, with placements available in accounting, human resource management, operations and production, supply chain and logistics, sales and marketing and strategic management
- Te Pūkenga: 6-week Modest Fashion Study Tour at Islamic Fashion Institute, Indonesia
- Erana Kaunga Tuhura Whānau Trust: 4-week Green Educators program and Green Growth course in Bali, Indonesia, visiting The Green School (Green Educator Foundation Certificate), The Kul Kul Farm (Permaculture / Sustainable living systems) and IBUKU (Bamboo Construction / Sustainable building techniques)
- TupuToa: 9-Week Internship and Entrepreneurship programme in Taipei, Asia's Silicon Valley
- University of Auckland: 6-week NCKU Chinese Language Study Abroad programme in Tainan, Taiwan
- University of Auckland: 10-week Korean Language Study Abroad at Korea University, South Korea
- University of Auckland: 6-week GCC Global Internship in Mumbai, India
- University of Auckland: 8-week NEXSTEP Global Internship in Bangkok, Thailand
- University of Auckland: 8-week CRCC Asia Global Internship in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
- University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, and Waikato University: Reimagining India Study Tour, delivered with IndoGenius, that will provide students from the three universities with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture, history, innovation, corporate and start-up ecosystem on India
- University of Waikato: Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato tauira Māori ki Taiwan, an immersive 6-week indigenous exchange that will focus on indigenous development across a range of disciplines and areas of significance for Māori and indigenous nations in Taiwan
- University of Waikato: 8-week internship programme focussing on international business, trade, and cross-cultural exchange with CRCC Asia - Vietnam
- Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design: 6-week Whitecliffe School of Fashion & Sustainability study tour to India, visiting Pearl Academy in New Delhi, craft artisans, and producing a collection of garments and accessories that will be presented at India Fashion Week in New Delhi in the final week of the journey
- Yoobee: 12-week Metaverse Mentored Internships at WIR Group Indonesia
