Prime Minister's Scholarship group awardees for 2024-25 announced

New Zealand’s ability to engage with key trading partners is set to grow further with 20 scholarships awarded for groups to gain educational experiences across Asia and Latin America, Tertiary Education & Skills Minister Penny Simmonds announced today.  

 Prime Minister's Scholarship for Asia 2024/2025 group awardees: 

  1. Pacific Cooperation Foundation: Entrepreneurship & Communities Internship with Pagoda Projects and Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. 
  2. University of Canterbury: Global China Connection Shanghai Shout, internship with Chinese/New Zealand company, China.  
  3. Lincoln University: 6-week summer agribusiness programme, Vietnam. 
  4. University of Auckland: Global Internship programme at Global Career Centre in Mumbai, India. 
  5. TupuToa: 9-week Sustainability & Society Internships Programme with Pagoda Projects in Bangkok, Thailand. 
  6. Poutawa ki Tawhiti: 8-week Language Development Programme, Japan. 
  7. Victoria University of Wellington and University of Otago: Indigenous studies programme with National Pingtung University, Taiwan.  
  8. Massey University: 9-week Pagoda Projects Sustainability & Society Internship Programme Thailand with Pagoda Projects in Bangkok. 
  9. Auckland University of Technology: Technology, AI and Culture in Professional Communication Practice at Universiti Teknologi MARA and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia. 
  10. Morehurehu: 6-week programme to Japan. 
  11. Ako Academy: 6-week Indigenous Education & Tech Development Programme, Taiwan and Thailand.  
  12. Wairewa Rūnanga: Tuna research and cultural tour, Japan. 

 Prime Minister's Scholarship for Latin America 2024/2025 group awardees: 

  1. University of Canterbury: Stellar Spectroscopy Research Techniques programme at the Universidad Diego Portales, Santiago, Chile and the International Astronomical Union Symposium 395 in Paraty, Brazil. 
  2. Massey University: Performance Arts Cultural and Language Exchange to Universidad de Los Andes Colombia. 
  3. Auckland University of Technology: The city in LATAM: Four weeks at Universidad Los Andes Colombia and Pontificia Chile Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV). 
  4. University of Waikato: Waikato ki Roto, Waikato ki Waho: Te Whare Waananga o Waikato Tauira Māori Colombia. 
  5. Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Kawakawa Mai Tawhiti: 4-week indigenous exchange to Brazil. 
  6. Massey University Whiti-o-Rehua School of Arts: 1-month study tour to three locations in Mexico. 
  7. Te Waka o Matariki: 4-week indigenous healing exchange, Colombia.  
  8. Tu Kaha Collective: Global Horizons Exchange, Colombia.
