Prime Minister's Scholarship group awardees for 2023 announced

Aotearoa New Zealand's global connections are set to rise, with 14 scholarships awarded for groups to participate in overseas education experiences in Asia and Latin America. The awards were announced by Education Minister Jan Tinetti on 22 June 2022.

Prime Minister's Scholarship for Asia 2023/2024 group awardees: 

  1. Lincoln University: 6-week Summer Agribusiness programme at Kasetsart University, Thailand 
  2. EBH Group: 6-week Ropu Māori Cultural and Business Exchange, China 
  3. University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington and University of Waikato: 6-week IndoGenius Reimagining India Study Tour with IndoGenius, India 
  4. Rangaranga ki te Ao: 8-week programme to Japan 
  5. Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato: 6-week tairua Māori ki Taiwan 
  6. Ahi Ka Otara Academy: 6-week Language & Cultural Exchange Korea 
  7. TupuToa: 9-week Pagoda project Sustainability and Migration Internship Programme in Bangkok, Thailand 
  8. Te Pūkenga: 6-week Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme at Jinhua Polytechnic, China 

Prime Minister's Scholarship for Latin America 2023/2024 group awardees: 

  1. Auckland University of Technology: 4-week Creative Digital Learning and Cultural Heritage internships at University of La Serena and University of La Frontera, Chile 
  2. Te Pūkenga: 6-week Internship, Medellín - Colombia 
  3. University of Auckland: 4-week Intercultural Approaches for Public Health at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile  
  4. Rangaranga ki te Ao: 8-week programme to Chile 
  5. Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato: 4-week tauira Māori ki Colombia 
  6. Victoria University of Wellington & Te Wānanga o Aotearoa: 4-week programme focused on indigenous studies, development and language revitalisation connecting Māori students with Mapuche students, communities, and organisations in Chile

All groups will be embarking on their travel within the next 12 months. Each successful group will run their own process to select participants for their programme. If you're enrolled / involved with a successful group, reach out directly to them to check how you can be involved.
